Francisco “Frankie” Salvador Perez, Jr. entered eternal rest after a long and courageous battle on Monday, February 27, 2023, and is now at peace with our Lord. Born to Francisco Salvador Perez, Sr., and Maria Luisa Lopez in 1969, Frankie was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, and friend to all who knew him. Frankie was preceded in death by his father, Francisco Salvador Perez, Sr., his paternal grandfather Salvador Perez, his maternal grandfather Alfredo Lopez, and his maternal grandmother, Maria Luisa Lopez.
A lifelong resident of McAllen, Frankie graduated from McAllen High School in 1988. After attending college on a musical scholarship for his natural talent as an accomplished violin and viola player, Frankie found his true calling and went on to pursue his vocation in the medical field, where touched the lives of so many. As a licensed vocational nurse for 30 years, Frankie was caring, compassionate, and cherished by all his patients.
Frankie loved spending time with his family, friends, and in the company of loved ones. He adored his favorite football team, The Dallas Cowboys. Frankie enjoyed fishing and cooking a variety of dishes, which he labored over with patience and love, while adding his own signature style. If there was a kitchen or grill nearby, he was sure to be behind it, always a gracious host to others. Frankie lived his life in service to our Lord and to everyone he met. His absence will leave a permanent void in our lives, but we are grateful for his presence while he graced us with it. Frankie will be greatly missed, and his family finds comfort and peace knowing his spirit and legacy of love will live on in all whose lives he touched.
Frankie is survived by his paternal Grandmother Rosa Perez, wife Ada Perez of Edinburg, Texas, his sons Andrew Vela, Christian, Nicholas, and Zachary, and his granddaughters Aria Jade Vela and Narah Genovieve Perez; his mother, Maria Luisa (Miguel) Navarro, brothers Marco Antonio (Claudia) Perez, Juan “Johnny” Perez, and Jesse Perez, and his sister Myra Jean (Michael) Navarro.
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Thursday, March 2, 2023, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Friday, March 3, 2023, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church 2201 Martin Ave. in McAllen. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park 1701 East Richardson Road in Edinburg.
Therefore, you too have grief now; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy away from you.
