FRANCISCA "AMA" HERNANDEZ

EDINBURG - Francisca "Ama" Hernandez, 85, went to her eternal home with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday June 14, 2023, in Edinburg surrounded by her family. Mrs. Hernandez was preceded in death by her husband, Victor Hernandez; her son, Victor Hernandez Jr.; a grandson, Randy Colon; her parents, Felipe and Trindad Irlas; four sibings, Domingo Hirlas, Nicolas Hirlas, Matilde Telles, and Tomasa Espericueta.

Ama Hernandez is survived by her eleven children, Rosalinda (Max) Colon, Rosavel (Erasmo) Singleterry, Rogelio (Sylvia) Hernandez, Rosalva (Armando) Villarreal, Ricardo (Santos) Hernandez, Anabel (Frank) Treviño, Maria Esmeralda Hernandez, Diana (Jose Armando) Caceres, Dora (Benito) Rodriguez, Jose Alfredo (Noelia) Hernandez, Aida (Miguel) Sanchez; four special family members, Yolanda Silva, Ester Gonzalez, Olegario Cantú and Richard Lozano; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three brothers, Vivian Irlas, Crecencio Irlas, and Juan Irlas; her sister, Eulojia Macias; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Monday June 19, 2023 at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Val Verde Memorial Gardens in Donna.

Serving as pallbearers are her daughters, Rosalinda Colon, Rosavel Singleterry, Rosalva Villarreal, Anabel Treviño, Maria Esmeralda Hernandez, Diana Caceres, Dora Rodriguez and Aida Sanchez.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
