EDINBURG - Florinda Lara, 79, entered eternal rest on Sunday, March 17, 2024. Mrs. Lara is preceded in death by her parents, Anastacio Mata and Maria Martha Moreno Mata; her husband, Ramiro Lara; 5 siblings, Guadalupe M.(Ricardo) Mendez, Jose (Juanita) Mata, Rafaela M. (Amado) Guzman, Gloria M. (Jose Aldape) Guerra and Maria Martha M. (Pedro) Tanguma.
Mrs. Lara was a very quiet person but had a lot of light and music in her soul. She did not speak much but when she did her light shined in and had a lot to say. She laughed a lot and made many jokes. She also loved God very much and she would read her bible daily. She prayed for her family and extended family everyday. She preached to us about getting right with God which will never be forgotten and we will cherish every moment we had with her.
Mrs. Lara is survived by her two sisters, Hortencia M. (Ruben) Garcia and Maria Martha T. (Francisco Sr.) Sierra; numerous family and friends.
Pallbearers for the services of Mrs. Lara will be: David Mendez, Rolando Guerra Jr., Guadalupe Mendez, Jesus De La Cerda, Anthony Cardona and Jonah Guerrero
Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, March 21, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be held at 2 p.m. at Legacy Chapels Friday, March 22, 2024. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
