Enrique Casas

Enrique G. Casas Sr. passed away at the age of 89, on November 13, 2016, in McAllen, Texas. Enrique is preceded in death by his parents, Gaspar and Maria Cruz Casas; brothers and sisters, Agustin, Francisco, Concepcion and Griselda. Mr. Casas is survived by his wife Josefa Segovia Casas; his children, Maria Casas Moreno, Enrique Casas Jr. (Luz Virginia), Erasmo Casas (Hilda), Hector Casas (San Juanita), San Juanita Casas Gomez (Jose), Edwardo Casas, Flora A. Casas, and Elias Casas; 14 grandchildren, Anita A. Moreno, Alberto E. Moreno (Jackie), Jose L. Gomez Jr. (Laura), Arlina M. Casas-Larson (John), David E. Casas, Rick A. Casas (Ida), Celina A. Gomez, Ector A. Casas (Jacob), Rebecca L. Casas (Carlos), Pamela M. Ledesma (Brian), Amanda R. Casas, Teresa Gomez, Uriel Lopez and Roberto Lopez; 14 great- grandchildren, Eliza Lopez, Maya I. Moreno, Nathaniel S. Saldana, Noah Gomez, Audrey Gomez, Alexander L. Ledesma, Jacob Ledesma, Lilly Gomez, Devon Ulivarri, Adriana N. Casas, Mia G. Ledesma, Christian R. Baggio, Kayly Lopez, Reena Lopez; brothers and sisters, Manuel, Ruben, Baldemar, Gaspar Jr., Humberto, Irma. Enrique was born January 31, 1927 to Gaspar and Maria Casas in General Teran, Mexico. He came to the United States at the age of 8 with a cousin in search of a better future. He worked as a steel mill worker, welder, and farm worker. He worked hard and became a successful businessman until his retirement. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. His memory will live on in our hearts forever. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary Monday, November 14, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson in Edinburg. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016, at St. Joseph Catholic Church 114 W. Fay St in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park 1701 E. Richardson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
