DOUGLAS LEE HOOPER
MCALLEN - Douglas Lee Hooper, 59, was united with Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 21, 2018 in McAllen surrounded by family and friends. Born in Mcallen, Doug had lived in McAllen most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Sidney and Madge Hooper.
Doug was proud of his Christian faith, and never turned down a chance to profess it! He was active with Bill Glass Prison Ministries, Gideons International, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and took part in many mission trips. A successful businessman, he was active in local civic organizations and worked in the local produce and trucking industries. He is known for founding Douglas Remodeling, Inc., which he operated for almost 20 years.
Mr. Hooper is survived by his loving wife, Yolanda Ramirez Hooper; four children, Aaron (Claudia) Robledo, Amy (Ivis) Melendez, Samantha (Cheyenne) Dennis, and Steven (Karla) Hooper; ten grandchildren; two siblings, Sidney "Butch" Hooper, and Deborah Sue (Randy) Clark; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and many loyal friends.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday, August 23, 2018 at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. A Celebration of Life service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
