Delfina E. Montemayor

Houston - Delfina E. Montemayor, 87, passed away on September 7, 2023, with her family by her side. She was born to the late Felipe G. Escobar and Maria Guadalupe Escobar on December 10, 1935, in Escobares, Texas. Mrs. Montemayor was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rogelio Sierra Montemayor; 5 siblings, Celso Escobar, Sr., Camilo Escobar, Victoria Soza, Valentina Escobar and Felipe E. Escobar.

Mrs. Montemayor is survived by her 2 daughters, Delma M. Buentello of Leander, Texas and Edna M. Segura of Rosenberg, Texas; 6 grandchildren, Marisa, Carlos, Enrique (Erika), Bianca Buentello-White (Ryan), Andrew J. Buentello and Alexis Taylor (Jesse); 9 great grandchildren, Isaiah, Jordan, Zavian, Mila, Roel, Julian, Hailey, Shore and Rosen; 1 great great grandchild, Aviana; 2 son-in-laws, Sam Buentello and Enrique Segura, Sr.

After moving from the Rio Grande Valley, Delfina lived most of her life in Houston, Texas where she worked for Luby's Cafeteria as a cashier for many years. She enjoyed being around people, especially her family.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2023, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg, Texas. Chapel service will be at 9 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Legacy Chapels. Interment will be followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Edinburg.
