MCALLEN - Arnoldo “V.I.M.” Cisneros, 88, entered eternal rest on, Sunday, April 14, 2024, at McAllen Heart Hospital. Mr. Cisneros is preceded in death by his parents, Santiago Maria Cisneros and Martha Gonzalez; his daughter, Antoinetta; his son, Michael; his brother, Santiago Cisneros.
Mr. Cisneros was born on November 11, 1935, in Brownsville, TX. As a boy he loved model airplanes and tinkering on cars alongside his father. His passion for mechanics and adventure led him to serve as an Airman Second Class in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. While stationed at Dover Air Force base, Arnoldo settled in Delaware, where he embraced fatherhood and raised three children.
Mr. Cisneros career flourished at Lockheed Martin, where he continued to engage his love for aviation and travel. His work as an airplane technician and manager took him around the world, with extended periods in Sri Lanka, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. Beyond his professional achievements, Arnoldo cherished the time spent traveling, restoring classic cars, and playing his guitar.
Mr. Cisneros legacy will live on through his beloved wife, Irma; his son, Arnoldo; a sister, Ofelia; grandson, Jack; and his great-granddaughter Ophelia; numerous family and friends.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a 11 a.m. rosary, Thursday, April 18, 2024, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Rio Grande Valley State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
