Mr. Arnaldo Martinez entered into eternal rest on Thursday July 28, 2016, in McAllen at the age of 87 yrs.
He was born on March 12, 1929, in Harlingen, Texas to Roberto and Martina Martinez. Mr. Martinez had lived in McAllen for the past five years. He was formally from Harlingen where he was an Automotive Instructor for many years retiring in 1995 from TSTC in Harlingen. Mr Martinez proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and in Vietnam. He was preceded in death by his wife Alice Renaud Martinez in 2008; his parents; three sisters-Rafaela Martinez, Minerva Craig and Edelmira Villarreal.
Left to cherish his memory is a son Arnaldo Martinez II and a daughter Andrea Martinez; siblings Jose Guadalupe, Roberto Jr., Ramiro, Lorensi (Celso) Martinez and Carmen Sierra; loving grandchildren Vicente, Brianna, Zachary, Samantha, Desiree and Jasmine. A special "Thank You" to dad's caregivers,Carmen Gomez and Enedina Delgado who loved and cared for him deeply for the past five years.
Visitation will take place from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday July 31, 2016, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday August 1, 2016, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in McAllen. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Cemetery in La Feria, Texas. Military Honors will be under the auspices of American Legion post 205 from Harlingen.
Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels of Edinburg.
