Anita Lopez

EDINBURG - Anita Lopez of Edinburg, Texas passed away peacefully at the age of 69 on Friday, December 1, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. Anita is preceded in death by her parents, Domingo and Marcela De La Rosa; granddaughter Amelia.

Anita was born to Domingo and Marcela De La Rosa on June 14, 1954 and was one of 7 children. Siblings: Eligio, Arnulfo (Yolanda), Elizondo, Carlos, Cristina Lozano (Roberto) and Sylvia Shives (Frank). On August 13, 1977 she married the love of her life Jorge A. Lopez and had three children.

Mrs. Lopez is survived by her husband, Jorge A. Lopez; 3 children, Esteban R. Lopez (Deena), Veronica Davis and Marlene Castilleja (Santos); 7 grandchildren, Noah, Madison, Mason, Ryan, Joseph Matthan, Jeremiah and Benjamin; numerous family and friends.

Anita was a loving mother and grandmother. She was a spiritual woman who loved the Lord and touched the hearts of many children as a Sunday School teacher for many years at her home church Iglesia Bautista Getsemani in McAllen, Texas. Her warm smile would light up any room and she had a passion for collecting cookbooks and cooking for her family. She will be deeply missed and happily remembered by her family.

A celebration of life service is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 6:30 PM at Iglesia Bautista Getsemani in McAllen, Texas located at 2101 Trenton Road.
