ALBERTO "ALBERT" VELA EDINBURG - Alberto "Albert" Vela, 46, went to be with our Lord, Saturday, June 18, 2016 in Melrose Park, Illinois. Born in Edinburg he had lived in Melrose Park for the past ten years after serving eight years in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Vela is survived by his parents, Albertano and Diana Vela; three brothers, Alejandro, Adrian and Allen (Edna) Vela; five nephews and nieces; numerous uncles and aunts. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. rosary, Thursday, June 23, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2016, at Legacy Chapels. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr with full military honors. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
