Mr. William Allen Tinsman was born on July 28, 1927 to Willman and Ester Tinsman in Lima, Ohio. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on February 5, 2017. William was a resident of Edinburg since 1970. He proudly served in the US Army in Korea and reenlisted in the USAF after the war. He graduated from Kent State University with a bachelor degree in Library Science and earned his Masters degree from the University of Kentucky. He spent over 20 years of his professional life as a reference librarian at Pan American University retiring in 1989. In his spare time he was an avid reader who enjoyed spending time with family and friends. A beloved husband,father,uncle and friend He will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Cheris Saenz of Los Angeles,CA. His grandparents that raised him Adam and May Tinsman of Findlay,OH.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 yrs Alba Tinsman of Edinburg and his son Steve Tinsman of Houston,TX. and a sister June Cruzon of Huntington Beach,CA.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday February 08, 2017 at Legacy Chapels,4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the recital of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM
Funeral services will take place on Friday February 10, 2017 at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg at 9:00 AM.
Inurnment will follow to the RGV State Veterans Cemetery in Mission.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
