MARY RODRIGUEZ
Edinburg – Mary Rodriguez, 65, entered eternal rest on Saturday, March 5, 2022, in McAllen. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Juanita Rodriguez; two brothers, Juan Rodriguez Jr. and Joe Rodriguez.
Mary is survived by her husband, Reynaldo “Rey” Rodriguez Sr.; three children, Reynaldo (Isela) Rodriguez Jr., Linda (Jaime) Sandoval, Cristina (Nick) Vargas; ten grandchildren, Ashley, Cassidy, Desiray, Alyssa, Carlos, John Paul, Emma, Andre, Star, and Christopher; three siblings, Rogelio Rodriguez, Rosa (Roberto) Delgadillo, and Velia Garza; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mary was a devoted wife, loving mother, and supportive grandmother. She was a beautiful soul who loved to garden, bake, and cook for her family. Mary was a hard worker whose legacy is her family and the gatherings shared for every occasion. Everyone had a special place in her heart.
Mary was employed at Brook Ridge Retirement Home for 21 years where she was loved by the senior community. In 2005, Mary was diagnosed with stage II breast cancer. Alongside her family, Mary would always participate in the Mission Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Walk as a breast cancer survivor. 17 years later, Mary was diagnosed with stage IV ovarian cancer and bravely undertook her second battle with cancer. God sent his toughest battles to her to get to heaven.
Before her second diagnosis, Mary looked forward to enjoying her retirement. And unfortunately, she was not able to embrace it on Earth, but is rejoicing in paradise she now calls heaven and pain free.
