MARIA DEL REFUGIO VILLARREAL PHARR - Maria Del Refugio Villarreal, 90, died peacefully to be with our Lord, Sunday, September 11, 2016, in Pharr surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Villarreal is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Villarreal Sr.; a son, Jose Villarreal Jr.; her parents, Domingo and Severita Garza; three brothers, Vicente, Ernesto and Anselmo Garza; three sisters, Celia Morales, Elodia Garza, Sylvia Ayala. Mrs. Villarreal is survived by four children, Rafaela V. (Ernesto) Mejia, Yolanda Islas, Oscar Villarreal and Noelia V. Koop; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Josefina Salinas, Concha Gonzalez, Corina Nuñez, Bertha Garza, Lupita Villarreal, Gloria Escamilla and Elvia Vera Dominguez; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service, Thursday, September 15, 2016, at Legacy Chapels 4610 S. Jackson Rd in Edinburg. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2016, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Pharr. Interment will follow at Palm Valley Memorial Gardens in Pharr. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
