LIZA MARIE MARTINEZ MCALLEN - Liza Marie Martinez, 33, beloved mother and wife went home to be with the Lord on Friday, April 8, 2022. Liza was born in Rio Grande City, Texas to Nelda Dina Canalés and Ruben Martinez. She was blessed to have a big loving family. Liza was a lover of life. She was a traveler, a hard worker, resilient figure in the face of adversity and a person who provided exemplary effort in her personal life and her professional career as a Realtor. Liza had an amazing sense of humor, a beautiful laugh and loved to dance! Everyone who knew Liza knew she was an extremely kind, loving person who loved her family more than anything in this world. Despite her battle with cancer, she never failed to be anything less than an excellent mother. Nothing brought Liza more joy than knowing her daughter was happy and safe. She was very grateful to know that her daughter had an excellent father. To her daughter she leaves her kindness and fierce determination. To her husband she leaves an undying love. Mrs. Martinez is survived by her husband, Esteban Flores; her daughter, Katalina Marie; her parents; her sisters, Nelda, Linda, and Annie; her brothers, Adam and Steven. She loved fiercely and deeply and we take comfort in knowing that Liza is now at peace surrounded by light. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service on Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Legacy Chapels 4610 South Jackson Road in Edinburg. Chapel service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at Legacy Chapels in Edinburg. Interment will follow at Roselawn Cemetery in McAllen. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
