Mrs. Georgina Guzman, 90, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, April 11, 2018.  Mrs. Guzman was born in Tampico, Mexico on April 23, 1927. She was a loving and devoted daughter, mother to her eight children and wife to husband Pedro Guzman.  Mrs. Guzman will be dearly missed by her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and all who knew her.

Mrs. Guzman married Mr. Pedro Guzman in 1951, they were married for 45 years until Mr. Guzman’s death in May of 1996. Georgina was formerly of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and had lived in the McAllen. "Home", since 1951. She worked as a CNA until her retirement in 1992. Mrs. Guzman was a proud U.S. Naturalized Citizen and a true Patriot. She was a frequent and generous donor to many charity groups including U.S. disabled-veterans groups, children's groups, homeless shelters, as well as the humane society for homeless animals. She was hard-working, creative, resourceful, loved to shop and find bargains. Georgina was an avid Gardner, a dog, and animal lover, as well as a talented seamstress.  Family and friends will cherish memories she leaves as a loving and deeply caring person.

Mrs. Guzman is preceded in death by her mother, Maria A. Robles who passed away in 1994; her brother, Ismael Robles who passed away in 2002.

Mrs. Guzman is survived by her eight children, Pedro Guzman Jr., Yolanda Gracia, Andy Guzman, Eva Gracia, Enrique Guzman, Georgina Guzman, Alicia Gonzalez, and Lauro Guzman; 13 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren, and one on the way. 

Visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service Sunday, April 15, 2018, at Legacy Chapels, 4610 South Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. The Guzman family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for all the care and support, loving thoughts and prayers during this difficult time of loss and grief.

Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
