Osvaldo Vela

McAllen, Texas Rev. Osvaldo E. Vela went to be with our Lord on Wednesday March 22, 2017 surrounded by his family at his home in McAllen. "Baldo" as he was lovingly known was 64 yrs old. He was born on Nov. 7, 1952 to Osvaldo and Benilde Vela. "Baldo" was a long time resident of McAllen. He was ordained as pastor in 1994 where he practice at the Iglesia Bautista Zendero de la cruz church in Alamo for many years. He was a God fearing man, family man that was loved by many. He was preceded in death by his parents. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Sylvia Canales Vela, his daughter Sylvia I. Vela, and his son Osvaldo E. Vela Jr. , two loving grandchildren Angel and Christian. Also Baldo's siblings Argelio Vela and Nylda Corral. Visitation will be held on Saturday March 25, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 pm at Legacy Chapels,4610 S. Jackson Rd. in Edinburg. Funeral services will be on Sunday March 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Iglesia Bautista Zendero de la Cruz, 930 N. Cesar Chavez Rd. in Alamo. Interment will follow to Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mission. Funeral services are under the direction of Legacy Chapels in Edinburg.
